Post-Graduation Work Permit
Turn your Canadian credential into open work experience — up to three years toward your permanent residency.
Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)
Students who have studied in Canada for at least 8 months after graduating from an accredited Canadian designated institution are qualified to apply for a post-graduation work permit. Depending on how long the study program was, a post-graduation work permit is given for a minimum of 8 months to a maximum of 3 years.
Through the Canadian Experience Class or Provincial Nominee Programs, it assists students in obtaining the requisite Canadian experience to petition for their permanent residency. It is crucial to remember that candidates are only eligible for one post-graduation work permit in their lifetime.
Eligibility for acquiring a post-graduation work permit:
- Must have earned a course, diploma, or certificate at least eight months long and designated as eligible by a Canadian institution.
- Must have remained lawfully present in Canada during their academic program.
- A valid study permit is required.
- Must possess official transcripts and a letter from the college confirming successful completion of the program.
